A great finale show. In the final Redemption Island duel between Brandon and Ozzy the challenge is to stay on a pole, hanging on with 1/4″ footholds – they both are tough but in the end Ozzy wins. Brandon is sent to the jury but he is okay with it all.
Ozzy rejoins Te Tuna and they head for their first immunity challenge - much to the other’s dismay Ozzy wins and they choose to vote out Rick. In the second challenge, it is a close race between Ozzy and Sophie but Sophie pulls ahead and wins. Ozzy tries to win over Coach and hold him to his loyalty but it doesn’t work and Ozzy is sent to the jury.
The final three – Albert, Coach and Sophie. The jury asks their questions and the votes are tallied. Sophie wins!!
It has been another amazing season thanks to all of you. We sincerely appreciate you listening, participating and/or commenting.
Happy holidays to all of you and your families and friends and may the new year bring you peace, happiness and calm.
See you in 2012 for the next season of Survivor.
Good finale. But I greatly doubt they will ever do this format again — bringing back two strong veterans. The whole season was just about Ozzy and Coach, and in the end it was just who was the least objectionable.
I wouldn’t mind if they bring back two veteran losers, especially Cochran and Phillip. They wouldn’t win, but they would add amusing stuff during the early episodes.
I think Coach played a great game. All the region and honor stuff was a great strategy to keep sheep together. He never believed the lie and dumped Ozzie when he had the chance. It just was a little short. But I don’t know if he had a better way to go.
Please please please dump Redemption Island. Every single returnee has been the immediate target to vote out. And please mix the tribes up before the merge so that the tribe alliances don’t ruin 3-4 episodes after the merge as they methodically eliminate the weaker tribe.
I agree – I think (or hope) the returning players thing is over. The reunion show scared me a bit with Jeff and his Hantz vs. Hantz idea.
Coach played the best game but I understand why he lost. He positioned himself as the deciding vote too many times and as the nexus of all the alliances he was the person blamed for most of the betrayals. Sad they couldnt see past it to reward the better gameplay (good job Cochran for doing this!!) but that’s how juries go.
If you had told me at the start of the season that Coach would make final 3 and get 3 votes to win Survivor, I would have called you a liar. I’ve always loved him but never thought he had what it took to be a hardcore Survivor strategist. This season proved me wrong, and happily so. All in all, I’m still a happy Coach fan, and I hope people can now see Coach not as an entertaining joke, but as a serious gameplayer, who has it in him to succeed at Survivor, and be a respectful human being. He may have lied and misled, which he admitted at Final Tribal but he never treated anyone badly or disrespected them, and that also reflects well on him.
So all in all… I enjoyed the season, feel privileged to be a part of it with all of you guys and can’t wait to do it all again in a few short months. This is the C team, signing out!!
I do think Coach did a good job this season upping his like ability factor which is key for “after Survivor” money opportunities. And, he showed that there is another side to these players (which we all know but it is easy to be swept away by the edits).
As you can imagine, I’m very happy about the whole thing. I did not want either Coach or Ozzie to win. I really hope they stop the BS and bring only new players to play. Unless it’s an all-star season, then fine.
Ozzie won the 100k and Cochran was (a distant) 2nd. Ozzie should have been ineligible.
Oh, and I’m in a beer related photography contest. Check out the Armchair FB page for details!

done and done. nice photo, Bri
I voted – cheering for you!!
Another season comes to a close, and it’s been a great one.
Sure, the episodes weren’t always great, but you know what was? The Armchair Survivor Podcast and the community!
And in the end, all of you made Survivor that much more enjoyable. So thank you for that.
And a happy holidays to everyone!
I agree! Happy holidays all!
Well that was a satisfying ending to a better than average season. I thought Sophie was a deserving winner. I really felt bad for her when they questioned her character. I always think those kinds of judgments in the game are silly. Sophie wasn’t social with the other tribe because she didn’t have to be!
To all the Ozzy lovers it just wouldn’t have been right for him to win, he was voted out 3 times, even if he won the final challenge he was voted out twice. Ozzy’s nature rant was ridiculous and they allowed it to go on wayyyy too long.
The preview for next season looked intriguing and should definitely put a new spin on the game. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of the armchair survivor family. See you in Feb.
PS: Thank god they didn’t give us a dramatic “spoken word” presentation from Semhar!
I almost said “Who?” when you mentioned Semhar.
This was one of the most entertaining final episodes I have seen in a long time.
I think that Sophie was a deserving winner. I know some will say that she road coattails
But I think she walked the fine line of keeping her mouth shut at the proper time. I felt bad when she started crying at Tribal but I think that was more the fact she was stressed out, hungry and tired rather than actually hurt.
Ozzy seemed to enjoy his time at RI and left the show one of the less bitter players. Really, I would have thought that by the final TC that Jim’s bitterness would have worn off. I can understand that Rick was still bitter but Jim. really?
I especially felt for poor Brandon when all the stuff started to come out about how he had been played. The good thing is that he seems proud of how he played. If he is like his Survivor self in real life with just a little polishing, I think he will grow up to be a pretty good man. I was also rather impressed when Russell said he was “Uncle Russell” and would shut up if Brandon wanted him to. In a weird way, I felt that Russell was supporting Brandon.
I agree with Mike on why Coach lost. He just painted himself into a corner from which he could not get out. It was not unlike the Immunity challenge when edna left.
And no matter what edna said, I think that it was wrong of Coach and others (HONOR and INTEGRITY) to take advantage of Brandon’s spiritual side.
I still have a shit load of candy. WTF was I thinking??????
Okay Karen – I’m confused on the candy thing? We are always looking for candy here at the Carrinos!!!!
Marji, I will send boxtops but I draw the line at sending candy to someone who won’t allow her loyal followers to see her picture. LOL!! I have eaten or shared all the caramels, peanut brittle and divinity but I am still backed up on the fudge and choc. mint bark and hard candy. The problem is it is just too fun to make.
Ohhh, alright. The school is very happy with those boxtops. However, can you send recipes for that chocolate mint bark? Enjoy making and eating that yummy candy!
ooohhh, good comeback, Karen! who was the blond at the very tale end of the last live chat? was I seeing things or on drugs or both?
I didn’t make the last live chat or at least the whole thing..too late.
Mint bark is sooo easy. Just get a bag of mint and choc chips. They come that way. Spread them in a single layer on a cookie sheet. No grease necessary. Place in a heated oven at about 300 degrees for 5 or so minutes. Until the chips are shiny. They will retain their shape. Then take a fork or toothpick or table knife and swirl/spread it around in the choc and mint chips. They should smooth out. Allow to cool, break into pieces and enjoy. It is the simplest of them all
