08.05.09 Survivor Micronesia – Tingie.com

Michael Bortone: Actor, Writer, Producer, Survivor (kinda -- not the million dollar kind of Survivor, though)Talking with Mikey B (Michael Bortone) from Survivor. Tough (and cute) exterior with an artistic and funny interior. We talk about everything from the challenges, the other players and the Pondi. Mike (C) summed it up well, he is like James Dean, his flame was snuffed before his time.

  1. Slappy McGee says:

Just listened to your interview with Michael Bortone, and I am struck by how nice you guys can be some times.

At the risk of being myself (oh, Slappy), I’d just like to say what an arrogant prick this guy sounds like. Truly full of himself.

It was the first one of your interviews where I really felt sorry for you guys and having to put up with his rudeness and bitch-fest.

You guys may not have thought so (and if you did I know you will NEVER reveal it because you are too danged midwestern-ly nice), but he is a whiney little bitch. Good god.

He gave NO OTHER players any credit. Called them all stupid. Said they were ALL horrible players. And yet they lasted MUCH LONGER than he did in the game. Not even close.

(And I know you guys will say he was generous with his time… but to me that’s no excuse for being so distracted and indisposed with an interview. I found that entirely rude.) He should have not done the interview if he was going to ask you to repeat yourself every question and half-listen to things while he was distracted with the other things he was doing and the noises of the places he was walking through or wherever he was.

Don’t get me wrong… I love the fact that you two work hard to get interviews and I appreciate that. I just hate that this guy turned out to be such a narcissistic tool.

(Am I coming across too harsh? – heh…)

  2. konamouse says:

Sounds like he was a lot different during the interview than in real life. Cause I think he puts on an act for the “show” and maybe he needs to come back and be himself instead?????

  3. Spig says:

Thanks for the interview guys. I hope you get a lot more in the future (interviews I mean Michael). As for Mikey B. I agree with Slappy, what an ass. It just cracks me up when a player who gets booted goes on and on about how nobody else knew how to play the game. Um, hello dude, apparently they were better players then you. Added bonus, he went out so early we never have to worry about him coming back for any kind of all stars. Go way Mikey B.

  4. The Misanthrope says:

I listened to the interview live and he didn’t come off as a jerk live. Michael must be editing it like they edit the Survivor episodes. Plus he was walking in the rain when he was on the phone. That being said, he’s an actor. I think it is genetically impossible for them to not sound narcissistic.

When is the finale show, M & M? I just downloaded all of the Cook Islands and Fiji shows (before I knew about this podcast) to hold me over until next season.

Was it just me or did Jeff sound like the name of the new season would be:

    Survivor – The Bone

(I assume Ozzy, Amanda and some combination of Parvati/Natalie/James will be involved.)

  5. cookie monster says:

Are you guys putting a finally podcast up??

  6. Marji says:

We are doing a podcast on the finale but later in the week due to schedules. Thanks for asking :- )

  7. Ellie says:

When you are on the air for your finale podcast, would you please email everyone? Or myspace me? Thanks! I really want to participate :]

  8. josh says:

    josh Says:

Did you give up on getting the other contestents for apprentice
    intervews?

  9. konamouse says:

Did you do the final episode podcast? Cause I didn’t see any memo about it. :( I had so much fun in the chat room during the show. I hope I can do it again next season.

Have you guys thought about doing Armchair:The Mole this summer?????

    ‘squeek’

  10. BrianAlt says:

Wow! He’s a lot taller than I thought. I guess that’s good. He needs something sturdy to hold up that ginormous head of his!

  11. Okay, I just watched the finale again and I feel the need, nay, the compulsion to mock. Hope M&M are still up for a finale show. I too wish to be emailed should you decide to broadcast again. P.S. Sorry about your Cavs.

  12. Richie says:

I had to give up on this podcast after 10 or 15 minutes. I got sick of every question having to be repeated because he wasn’t paying attention.

“added bonus, he went out so early we never have to worry about him coming back for any kind of all stars.”

I think it would be cool if they did a Survivor where they bring back 20 players who were unlucky in their first try. People who seemed like strong players but got voted off early (Joel), or people like Mike that fell into the fire.
