2011.12.11 South Pacific – No More Cochran to Kick Around

Marji has been silenced by the loss of Cochran. OK, that’s not why she’s not on the show but it sounded good. Actually we had a rather strange weekend which kept us from doing a show — but don’t worry, it’s not one of those bad things from bad people again. It’s actually good news and we’ll probably fill you in within the next few weeks when everything has settled. Nothing huge for all of you, but it was a biggie for us.

In the mean time, we had a lot of fantastic contributors this week — THANK THEM, not us for this weeks show. We thank them, too.

2011.12.07 South Pacific – Play The Game!

Edna’s feelings are hurt and she lets everyone know that.  As she is crying to Coach, Brandon finds tree mail.  Delivered is a Sprint phone with video messages from the tribe’s loved ones.

Redemption Island – Ozzy vs. Cochran – The challenge is to use a grappling hook and retrieve three bags which hold balls, each then use the ball and move it through a table maze.  Ozzy dominates the challenge in the beginning by retrieving the bags quickly (and effortlessly) while Cochran struggled but made it through with help from the tribe watching them.  However, Cochran makes some quick moves getting through the maze, it is really close, however Ozzy pulls in the win.  Cochran is sent to the Ponderosa.

Jeff brings in the Te Tuna’s family members and each gets a quick hug (and Rick’s wife gets a squeeze or two on the bum) and then Ozzy gets to choose which three will get to spend time whith his/her loved one.  Ozzy chooses Albert, Coach, and Brandon.  They all head off to Redemption Island to enjoy time together.

While sharing time with loved ones Brandon’s dad tells him to “PLAY THE GAME!”, Coach gives Ozzy his word that they are in the final two and Brandon’s dad “encourages” Coach to take him to the final three.  Hope they caught all the good stuff on the Sprint phone.

Immunity – In this challenge each player moves across a puzzle board, as they leave the piece they are on, they flip it over.  Each piece can only be stepped on once.  Last person with spaces wins.  The plan seems to be to block in Edna, which works, and Coach wins immunity.

Edna tries to convince the team that she has played with honor, integrity and loyalty and Brandon hasn’t.

Tribal Council - Edna states that Brandon isn’t being honest and Brandon states it is Edna’s turn to go – who will it be?  Final votes are in and Edna is sent to Redemption Island.

You get to hear what we think, now it is your turn – what do you think?  Call us at 234-525-1549, e-mail us at show @ ArmchairSurvivor.com, and/or comment on the blog or comment line.

2011.12.04 South Pacific – A 70 Percent George

As we take bets on how many seconds it takes or Ozzy to send Cochran home we discuss his pros and cons and you know who was pro and you know who other was con. Nuff said. Lots of great conversation from the hosts and — especially — the listeners.

On another note, for a while you were probably not able to get to our web site. Some Russian hacker attempted to bring us down but luckily our host, DreamHost, put up some protection until Mike was able to figure out where the bad guys were coming in and send them packing. Though this was a real pain in the butt to fix, we applaud DreamHost for taking proactive and reasonable action. We want our listeners to be save — even more than we want them to listen to us.

2011.11.30 South Pacific – Out-clean, Out-gather, and Out-organize

Family, family, family – the group continues to talk about their family honor and pride.  Cochran approaches the family and asks for the tribe to pay back the debt they own him for saving the group.  And for Cochran’s sacrifice he is asking the group to save him  and keep him in the game for another few days.

Redemption Island – The challenge is to balance ceramic dishes on a pole – the last person holding all the dishes wins.  Dawn goes out, then Whitney, and that leaves Ozzy as the winner.   Good bye Dawn – I really liked you.  Good bye Whitney – Mike really liked watching you in your jeans.

Discussion at Te Tuna involve who is working, who isn’t and who should go.

Reward and Immunity Challenge – A two part challenge where the for the first part each player must toss sand bags on crates.  First three players to get a bag on three crates moves ahead.  Albert, Rick and Sophie Win!  Next part of the challenge is to sling shot coconuts at targets and the first to hit three targets win.  Close but Albert wins it all.  Albert wins immunity and also reward.  He gets a fresh shower and massage at camp AND can pick one person to go with him.  Of course Coach is choosen but in a twist Albert gives his reward away to Cochran.

Albert, Cochran and Edna try to get the majority to vote out Rick, but the Family has talked about Cochran going next.

Tribal – Cochran remains strong with his feelings of entitlement and claims the group needs to pay off their debt to him and keep him in the game.  Edna is crying over the fact that she feels deceived and thought she was an equal ”family” member when there has been a pecking order all along.  Brandon is tired and sick of “all the grey” and Sophie just wants Jeff to move on with the vote.  In the end Rick is safe and Cochran goes off to Redemption Island.

Thank you all for listening and participating in this awesome season!
